Ooty
This queen of hill stations is in the Nilgiri Mountain ranges
in Tamil Nadu. It was originally inhabited by 'todas', a tribal
people. It attracts countless tourists by virtue of its salubrious
climate and scenic beauty. The main attraction of Ooty is; Botanical
Garden: The numerous varieties of ornamental trees
and plants are attractions for all tourists visiting Ooty.
Ooty
Lake is of major interest for all the tourists visiting
Ooty and they spend more time near the lake than at any other
place. A mini children's train is an added attraction near the
lake. A micro telescope has been installed here. Kothagiri: This oldest hill station is 29 km from Ooty. Rangaswami

Falls and Elk falls are worth seeing. Kalhatti Falls is lovely picnic spot 13 km
from Ooty. Kukurthi Peak peak is 2600 meters
above the sea level. Sim's Park: this is noted
for its variety of plants, shrubs and flowers. Dolphin's
Nose is a ideal picnic spot is 12 km from Ooty. Loz
Falls is a lovely cascade situated 7 km from Coonoor.
Thanjavur
Located on the eastern coast of Tamil Nadu, Thanjavur bears
witness to the great Chola Empire, because of its Temples- the
most famous of which is the Brahadeeswarar Temple.
Other Places of interest include The Palace, located near the temple. The Palace houses the Art Gallery.
The Saraswathi Mahal Library, the Sangeetha
Mahal, and Schwartz Church are other
prominent places.
